The nature of the information
Site information is compiled from public registers and archives. Every site carries a source reference and a location accuracy class stating whether the place is known precisely or estimated.
The service is not intended for navigation and its information must not be relied on where safety depends on it. Some sites lie in open terrain, on private land, or in structures that may collapse or cause injury.
Responsible visiting
Visiting a site is at your own risk. Respect everyman's rights, respect places of remembrance and the fallen, and do not enter protected sites or private land without permission.
At sites protected under the Antiquities Act, digging, covering and altering structures is prohibited. If you find explosives or ordnance, do not touch them; report them to the emergency number.
Errors and corrections
The material inevitably contains errors: a coordinate may be in the wrong place, a site may no longer exist, information may be out of date. The service does not guarantee accuracy and is not liable for damage arising from its use.
If you notice an error, tell us — we will correct it and record the change in the sources.
